How to Ground Yourself (Return), 2025 Video
Digital Media Design, ART315, University of San FranciscoThis video project served as an introduction into Adobe Premiere Pro, learning skills such as video/audio production and editing. The project criteria was to create a 2-3 minute video explaining how to do something. My video was inspired by 90s music videos and mid-budget teen movies. I wanted there to be an initial plot, which was how to ground yourself at the park, but there is also a subplot revealed as the video goes on, exploring how to make the most of the time we have away from technology in a post-internet society. I filmed on my Canon digital camera from 2008 to get a taller aspect ratio and a lower quality video to highlight the pre-Internet feel. I also used a variety of shots and editing techniques to keep up the pacing and I added basic text that is reminiscent of early 2000s PBS. The music, Free by The Martini’s, adds an additional 90s grunge experience. You can watch the full video below
