This interactive net art is a project that ties together memory and personal connection with the internet. Kid Pix was an early 2000s software that was comparable to MS Paint but more colorful, and had 3D characters to pique the interest of children to paint on a computer. The first time I ever used a computer, my kindergarten class went to the computer lab in the library in 2009 and learnt the basics of computer interfaces through Kid Pix. This project embodies the feeling of using a computer to draw like a kid. Each asset is drawn using Illustrator and coded using HTML and CSS, with the intent of combining both physical and digital interactions in a blend of classical and computerized illustration through my eyes as a child. The organic strokes are meant to juxtapose the typical perfect shapes you’d find on any software. Visit the site here:
